Four students punting from Oxford to Cambridge decided to stop for the night at St Peter’s church Upwell. The Well Creek Trust has a mooring located opposite the church. The news of the students approach reached Upwell, where the Reverend Daphne Calvert offered them the church for the night.
The students are raising funds for the Alzheimers Society and helping to bring the mental illness into the public eye. The whole distance of the punt will be 204 miles and they estimate it will take around 12 to 14 days to complete. We gave them a friendly send off and wished Beth, Charlie, Stefan and Ryan good luck with their journey.
