Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting was held at Outwell Village Hall on the 6th February 2026, and was well attended this year. The committee would like to thank everyone for their continuing support.
Swans and general wildlife
Some of the members during the meeting expressed their concern with fishermen leaving lines and hooks behind on the riverbank and also some fishermen casting out their lines while swans swam past and even snagging them. The Trust has received many Facebook postings of swans being entangled in fishing lines on the Creek this year. In response to this, the Trust has engaged the local water bailiff to patrol the Creeks banks to see how common the negligence has increased and remind the fishermen to take all of their fishing equipment home with them.
Commissioned Film
This year the committee decided not to invite a guest speaker at the AGM. Instead a presentation about The Well Creek, with a specially commissioned film by the Welle Film Production company, was narrated by 4 members of the committee.
The film which was filmed on a boat between Marmont Priory and Salters Lode, and showed many parts of the Creek that cannot be seen from the road.
The narration included information about village social history and local historical sites along the Creek. The feedback received was very positive and the committee was asked if the film could be released for general viewing.
This was agreed with the Welle Film Production company and it would be released once the narration has been added.
