Heygates HGV crashed into the Creek on the 20th October, thankfully the driver didn’t suffer any permanent injuries.
However, once the HGV had been hauled out of the Creek this is what was left and needed to be cleaned up.
Heygates took full responsibility for the clean up under the observation of the Environment Agency representative who also took samples of the water during the clean up. Trust committee members were in attendance at the scene until the work had been completed.
The Creek clean up was completed by the end of the day and was monitored for dead fish over the subsequent days. The Environment Agency returned a couple of days later and took further samples of the water. The Creek got a full clean bill of health.
